Terms of Service

Last updated: 11 August 2026 · Version 2026-08-11

We've written these in plain English. If anything here is unclear, email us and we'll explain it properly.

Who we are

Quiet Space is operated by Earth Child Project Limited, a private limited company registered in England and Wales (company number 12597581). Registered office: The Essex House, Waterworks Close, Layer-De-La-Haye, Colchester, England, CO2 0EP.

Your agreement

By ticking the agreement box at sign-up, or by continuing with Google or Apple, you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy. We record the date and version you agreed to. If they aren't the right fit for you, we'd rather you didn't sign up, and that's completely okay.

What Quiet Space is (and isn't)

Quiet Space is a self-help tool for parents and carers of neurodivergent children. It is not a medical, diagnostic, therapeutic, educational, or legal service, and it is not a crisis or monitoring service. Nothing in Quiet Space replaces advice from a qualified professional. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services, in the UK that's 999, or Samaritans on 116 123.

Your account

  • You must be 18 or over to hold an account.
  • You're responsible for keeping your login details and parent PIN safe.
  • You're responsible for the accuracy of what you enter, and for having the right to enter it.
  • One account per adult; you can invite other family members separately.

Iris and AI guidance

Iris is an AI companion. She draws on what you've shared in your child's profile, your logs, your uploaded documents and a curated knowledge base to offer ideas and gentle structure. Iris can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. Always apply your own judgement as the parent or carer, and check anything important with the professionals involved in your child's care.

Chats are processed by third-party AI services in real time to generate a reply. We do not sell your data, and your child's data is not used to train AI models.

Medication and medical decisions

Iris will never suggest, recommend, adjust or plan around medication doses, timings, or changes. Any medication information you record is for your own reference only. Medication decisions belong with your prescriber.

Kid Mode

Kid Mode is a simplified space your child can use with your knowledge and supervision. Access is controlled by a PIN that you set. You remain responsible for what your child enters and for supervising their use. Anything Iris suggests from a child's session (for example a sensory or well-being note) is a proposal only, it reaches your child's profile after you review and approve it. Kid Mode is not a substitute for adult supervision or professional support.

Safeguarding and safety flags

To keep families safe, content going to and from Iris passes through automated safety checks. Where something looks like a risk of harm, Iris will respond with crisis signposting and the event may be recorded and reviewed internally by trained members of our team. These checks are automated and imperfect, they do not operate in real time as a monitoring service, and no one is watching your account. If you or your child are at risk, contact emergency services directly.

Family sharing and invites

You can invite other adults in your family to your account. Anyone you invite can see and add to the shared child profiles, logs, schedules and documents in that family. Only invite people you trust with that information. You can remove a family member at any time from Settings; the account owner remains responsible for the family's data.

Content you upload

You can upload reports, letters, assessments and images. By uploading you confirm you have the right to do so, and you give us permission to store and process that content to build your child's profile and power the features you use. You keep ownership of your content. Please don't upload anything unlawful, or anything about another family's child without their consent.

Calendar connections

If you connect a calendar, we request read access only to import upcoming events so Quiet Space can help you prepare for them. You choose which events are relevant, and Quiet Space learns from those choices. We never write to, change, or delete anything in your calendar. You can disconnect at any time from Settings, which stops future syncing.

Emails and notifications

We send service emails (confirmations, password resets, billing notices) that are part of holding an account. Optional emails and push reminders, prep reminders, the weekly round-up, can be turned off at any time from Settings or via the unsubscribe link.

Trial, subscription and payment

  • New accounts get a 14-day free trial with everything included. No card required.
  • After the trial, continued access requires a subscription at £9.99 a month, billed through our payment provider. Prices include VAT where applicable.
  • If a subscription lapses, your data stays safe and viewable, resubscribe at any time to switch everything back on.
  • You can cancel at any time from Settings. Access continues to the end of the billing period already paid for; we don't pro-rate part-months.
  • As a UK consumer you have a 14-day right to cancel a new subscription. Because access starts immediately at your request, we may charge for the portion of the period you've used.
  • We may change the price with at least 30 days' notice by email; you can cancel before the change takes effect.

Acceptable use

  • Don't attempt to access other people's accounts or data.
  • Don't scrape, resell, or reverse-engineer the service.
  • Don't use Iris to generate harmful, abusive, or unlawful content, or try to bypass her safety boundaries.
  • Don't rely on Quiet Space where a professional or emergency service is needed.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time by contacting us, and we'll remove your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or remove an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or where there's a safeguarding or legal reason to do so. Where we can, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to export your data first.

Liability

Quiet Space is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service, and our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that can't be limited under law. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Quiet Space grows. For material changes we'll email you or tell you in-app before they take effect. The version number at the top always tells you which set of terms is current.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, though if you live elsewhere in the UK you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
